WHY SUBMIT?

Why Submit Your Images for Exhibition?

Whether you are an amateur or professional, acceptance of your work for an exhibition validates your mastery of our craft. It’s also like having a very strong reference on your resume when you attempt to interest galleries and others in reviewing your portfolio.

The Center for Fine Art Photography is dedicated to helping both emerging and established artists gain recognition for their work, and expose their images to a world-wide audience. We do this by who we select as jurors and the many venues we used to give your work broad exposure.

First, the people selected as jurors for the Center’s exhibitions are very prominent in the photography industry, as owners of leading galleries, publishers, directors of leading photography organizations, photo editors, leading consultants and others who influence the growth of artists. Many of the photographers selected for an exhibition have also been selected by the jurors for other opportunities that have lead to additional exhibitions and publications of their work

Second, being selected for an exhibition at The Center for Fine Art Photography puts you in great company with many internationally recognized photographers who have exhibited at the Center. And, along with the exhibition comes a great deal of international exposure. Each work exhibited in the Center’s gallery is also posted on the Center’s online gallery for two years.

We are often asked how many images in a typical exhibition are by amateurs – photographers who do not make a living from their photography. Generally, two thirds of every exhibition is composed of work created by non professionals. It is not uncommon for the Juror’s Selection award to go to someone who has never had their work selected for a major exhibition.
